Welcome Back Retirees!

Great Retiree Turnout at Ralph's Last Bell & Breakfast!

Thanks to all the retirees who made it out to Ralph's ceremony today.  It's always a pleasure getting together with present and past members for some great fellowship, stories, and of course a delicious firehouse breakfast!  What a great way to send Engineer Martini off as he leaves our ranks and re-joins yours.  It's a bittersweet celebration - we're so happy for Ralph as he embarks on the next chapter of his life and begins to enjoy a well-deserved retirement.  We are also saddend because his presence will be missed, just as it is for all of you.  Each of you has left your mark and your legacy - and we keep that alive with all the stories and reminiscing around the dinner table.  Just like a fine wine, the stories get better with time.  We look forward to connecting with you again at the next "Last Bell & Breakfast" for ???? Dave? Larry? Ron?  Don't all rush for the door at once!

Congratulations to Ralph Martini

Congratulatons on your retirement, Engineer Ralph Martini!

After 35 of service to the citizens of San Luis Obispo, Engineer Ralph Martini retied today.  At the end of Ralph's last shift this morning he took one last drive, delivering his crew to Station 1 for the traditional "Last Bell and Breakfast".  There, he joined many of his fellow SLOFD Retirees and current members for a morning of great stories, fellowship, and of course a delicious firehouse breakfast.  Ralph also placed his plaque on the Retirement Board and rang the bell signifying the end of a long, honorable career.  Always a bittersweet event, we are sad to see our members leave but happy to see them enter the next phase of their life - one of well deserved R & R, and pursuit of all those things put off until retirement.  Enjoy, Ralph... and don't be a stranger!

Congratulations To Our New Members!

Congratulations to our 6 new brothers who just completed an exhausting 4 weeks of intense training and orientation!  We have already gotten to know you a little, but we all look forward to really getting to know you, working along side you, and helping you complete the next phase of your integration into the SLO FD Family.

Welcom aboard, Dusty Renner, John King, Michael Harris, Nate Hasch, Billy Nason, and Alec Flatos!
