Local 3523 President is new CPF Trustee

Late in 2009 CPF and IAFF Western Region Trustee Tony Mejia resigned his position as CPF Trustee leaving a vacancy and thus creating a Special Election by CPF to fill the position. Local 3523 President Erik Baskin was nominated and ran for the vacated position. The Special Election took place late in 2009 and Local 3523 is very proud to announce that President Baskin was elected to the position of CPF Trustee. Local 3523 is very proud and thankful to all the members of CPF for their support on behalf of President Baskin. President Baskin will make an excellent Trustee and Local 3523 is excited about this new position and opportunity being given to them.
On behalf of the Membership of Local 3523 we would like to thank everyone for their support and President Baskin is looking forward to giving back to CPF and the membership statewide that have given so much to us.

Local 3523 Daughter in National Contest

On a whim, San Luis Obispo City Firefighters Secretary Jody Larson and his wife, Jodi, entered their seven-year-old daughter, Brooke, in the Gap Casting Call Contest. Now, she is a finalist in the girls' category.
"We were surprised and proud at the same time," says Larson, who was flown with his daughter to San Francisco for the finalists' photo shoot.
If she wins, Brooke will be featured in the Gap clothing catalog, as well as in ads and store front pictures. To vote for Brooke, visit the contest site before the December 21, 2009, deadline.
Local 3523 wishes Brooke good luck and we are hoping that she wins.
